Lena Schömann shows the “Golden Lola”

“The Perfect Secret” has won the German Film Award. The social comedy by Bora Dagtekin and producer Lena Schömann received the “Golden Lola” in the category “Most Attended Film” on Friday evening.

Since its theatrical release on October 31, 2019, “The Perfect Secret” has become a real crowd-puller. No other film last year attracted more viewers to the cinemas - more than 5 million viewers wanted to see the star-studded comedy.

The film has also been available for home cinema since March and has now exceeded the mark of over 700.000 transactions on German-language VoD platforms.

Martin Moszkowicz, CEO of Constantin Film, says: "I am very pleased that cinema audiences have ensured that 'The Perfect Secret' received the Audience Award. After all, it is the most important award for the most successful German film of 2019."

“The Perfect Secret” is a remake of the 2016 Italian film “Perfetti Sconosciuti” by Paolo Genovese. The film was adapted in numerous countries and became a worldwide phenomenon.

The successful duo Bora Dagtekin and Lena Schömann took up the idea of ​​the film and developed a contemporary interpretation for the German cinema audience.

The cinema comedy is a Constantin Film production and was supported by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF), Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). The executive producer is Martin Moszkowicz.

Cast include Elyas M'Barek, Florian David Fitz, Jella Haase, Karoline Herfurth, Frederick Lau, Wotan Wilke Möhring and Jessica Schwarz.
