filming for "Boomerang Kids"

When your own child moves back home: A ZDF comedy with the working title “Boomerang Kids” is currently being produced in Munich and the surrounding area, with Devid Striesow, Anja Schneider and Max Schimmelpfennig in the leading roles.

It is a turbulent story about a married couple whose adult son suddenly demands his childhood bedroom back. It is directed by Florian Schwarz, the screenplay is by Peter Probst.

Anja and Michael Wagner (Anja Schneider and Devid Striesow) have finally downsized from their terraced house in a Munich suburb to a small, affordable apartment in the city.

After daughter Stella (Pauline Fusban) landed a top job in Switzerland, problem child Niklas (Max Schimmelpfennig) has apparently also turned things around as a teacher trainee and in a steady relationship.

Anja actually wants to seize the opportunity and move into her own bedroom in the new apartment so that she no longer has to endure her husband's snoring.

Filming is expected to last until September 11, 2020; a broadcast date has not yet been set.

But then Niklas unexpectedly asks for shelter: his room in the shared apartment has been evicted. At first, his parents are pleased that the family is closer together than ever before.

But Anja and Michael do not expect that Niklas' girlfriend Alina (Anouk Elias) will move in - and she not only throws Niklas off track...

“Boomerang Kids” is a ZDF commissioned production by FFP New Media GmbH (producer: Judith Smeaton) in collaboration with Arte. The editor in charge is Wolfgang Grundmann.
