Paid Content: “Bild” has half a million users
The digital payment service from “Bild” has had over half a million users since November 2020. Over 500.000 digital subscriptions use “Bildplus”.
Seven years after its launch in 2013, the service gained around 2020 subscribers in 50.000 alone and was able to increase growth to over ten percent compared to the previous year.
This makes “Bildplus” by far the largest paid content offering in Germany and one of the most successful digital news subscriptions worldwide.
Julian Reichelt, editor-in-chief and spokesperson for the management of "Bild", says: "Paid content is the circulation of our digital age, and for seven years this circulation has only gone up. It goes up because of what is important to us: good stories with good writing from the best reporters."
He believes that journalism is worth something and that you have to invest in it. With “Bildplus” and “Weltplus”, Axel Springer is one of the pioneers of paid content in Europe.
The monthly subscription costs 7,99 euros per month. The premium offer for 12,99 euros also includes access to various e-papers from the publisher.
