24 hours of music: “Pop around the Clock – Summer Edition”

On the theme day “Pop around the Clock – Summer Edition”, 3sat will soon be celebrating pop and rock music for 24 hours.

In times of the corona pandemic, 3sat is bringing inspiring musicians to music fans' homes on Saturday, July 24, 2021, starting at 06.05:XNUMX a.m.

Corona-compliant concerts or performances in front of large audiences: From pop to loud guitar riffs to quiet sounds, everything is there. Including Grammy winner Dua Lipa and Rammstein singer Till Lindemann.

A special feature of the summer special of “Pop around the Clock”: The 3sat theme day is moderated by Vivian Perkovic, who guides you through these 24 hours with background information and musical facts.

At 20.00 p.m. Jan Delay & Disko No.1 (first broadcast) will present their new album "Earth, Wind & Feiern". The "Strandkorb concert" was recorded on July 12, 2021 in the Hessian state capital Wiesbaden.

Together with his band Disko No. 1, Jan Delay has created a very unique sound: from disco to trap, funk, afrobeats, ska, reggae to rock and soul.

From 18.00 p.m. onwards, the Swiss pop and soul singer Stefanie Heinzmann and the Berlin folk band Mighty Oaks can be seen live from the Bauhaus University Weimar in the 3sat series “zdf@bauhaus”.

The concerts with Brittany Howard, Laura Marling and Little Mix will be broadcast by 3sat in their German premiere. There will also be a TV premiere of the British singer Ellie Goulding:.

In August 2020, Goulding performed songs from her new album “Brightest Blue” at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, accompanied by a string ensemble, a choir and the band.

From 2.40:3 a.m., the new 37sat format “Pop Around – Video Stars” takes you into the world of music videos: In five XNUMX-minute shows, Vivian Perkovic presents particularly style-defining and creative video clips from five decades – from Madonna to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson.

Vivian Perkovic is “on the road”, in each episode in a location that is thematically connected to the respective music video clips, and from there presents the colorful world of music videos.

The individual programs will be broadcast for the first time on 3sat, regardless of the theme day, from Monday, July 19th to Friday, July 23rd, 2021, each at 19.20:XNUMX p.m.

Many of the concerts are available in the 3sat media library and can be found on the social media channels with the hashtag #wirlebenkultur, under which 3sat bundles the cultural events of the summer.
