Giving 64 international artists from the fields of dance, choreography, music and film a perspective during the lockdown was the goal of Eric Gauthier, the artistic director of Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart.

Earlier this year, he put together “The Dying Swans Project” with a total of 16 new dance solos for the members of Gauthier Dance.
All choreographies can be seen online from Friday, April 16, 2021, 10.00:3 a.m., in the XNUMXsat media library, on the Theaterhaus Stuttgart YouTube channel and the Gauthier Dance Instagram channel.
The pieces are available indefinitely in the 3sat media library. Eight selected solo performances will also be broadcast as short videos in the current 3sat program.
Eric Gauthier's idea: 16 choreographers each create a dance solo for the 16 members of the Stuttgart Theaterhaus Company, one of the most successful German dance companies.
The choreographer and dancer also commissioned 16 original pieces of music for the pieces as well as the film adaptation.
The result is 16 new creations in very different choreographic styles with a strong message: art cannot be stopped.
When it came to the choreographic line-up, Gauthier deliberately opted for diversity: well-known names can be found there as well as representatives of the independent scene, including some from the Stuttgart region.
Depending on where the artists lived, work was done via video link or directly and in person on site at Gauthier Dance.
The choreographies were partly created in Stuttgart, but also in Canada, Israel, Greece and Berlin.
