The anxiety app “Roodt” launches in Germany

DThe number of people who suffer from spontaneous anxiety and panic attacks is huge. There are said to be more than ten million sufferers in this country.

An app called Roodt, which is now new in Germany, is supposed to provide real relief.

Rootd is already used by hundreds of thousands of users around the world and helps users in the moments when they need it most.

The app offers interactive exercises and curricula based on cognitive behavioral therapy.

The app's founder, Ania Wysocka (pictured above), who founded the whole thing based on direct experience with anxiety, says the German version is a direct response to demand in Germany, coupled with the increased fear and uncertainty worldwide caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

She says: "Dealing with anxious thoughts can be difficult for anyone. And the added feeling of isolation while we are in lockdown and having to follow social distancing can increase the difficulty we face."

Ania Wysocka continues: “I hope that with the instant relief from panic and anxiety that Rootd offers, we can support our existing German users who want to use the tool in their native language.”

The functions of Rootd:

• A panic button in case you actually experience a panic attack.

• Lessons on understanding panic attacks and anxiety, as well as short-term and long-term changes that can be made in one's life to manage anxiety and feel more in control.

• A deep breathing tool (most people with anxiety tend to breathe shallowly).

• A body scanning tool (as a form of active meditation).

• A diary tool (to build trust).

• Guided visualizations and calming nature sounds.

• And a statistics page where users can track their progress and celebrate successes.

Rootd is available directly through the App Store and Google Play Store, as well as as a corporate offering for employers and health insurers.

“Providing employees with access to Rootd is a simple and direct way for employers to take care of the health of their teams,” says Ania Wysocka.

The app has been named one of the best anxiety apps by Healthline, Women's Health, and Cosmopolitan, and was also featured in a special issue of Time Magazine.
