ARD: Red Button in new design
The red button teaser on the ARD start bar has long been familiar to many viewers, as this teaser allows them to directly access additional program content and, for example, conveniently access the ARD media library.
What is new, however, is the design of the Red Button Teasers. While the pop-ups were previously rather discreet at the edge of the TV screen, the Red Button Teasers are now real eye-catchers.

In the future, viewers will see more visually powerful program teasers that will be even more attention-grabbing thanks to the use of appealing graphics and text.
And not every red button teaser will look the same in the future: the design of the teasers can differ in size, dimensions, format and position.
They are available in small and discreet formats to large and attention-grabbing ones – depending on which version best suits the program content to be announced.
The red button on the remote control, the so-called Red Button, can be expanded to include a teaser to highlight particularly interesting ARD programs and draw attention to special broadcasts.
Using the red button teaser is particularly practical for viewers, as it allows them to easily access additional content. The yellow button makes this possible: with the "Watch now" function, additional program content can be started directly on the screen.
The new Red Button teasers also still feature the “Restart broadcast” replay function, which allows the current broadcast to be restarted from the beginning from the live program.
Viewers who have a smart TV or a set-top box with HbbTV technology can use the Red Button Teasers with the additional functions. The devices must be connected to the Internet for this.
