“This year there is a real ‘rush’ of film submissions from young filmmakers and non-professionals,” commented Steffen Kircher, coordinator of the German Human Rights Film Prize (DMFP), on the very high number of submitted Movie in this competition category.
So far, almost 60 productions have been submitted by non-commercial directors.
Kircher: “This shows that the issue of human rights is firmly anchored in the middle of society and that young people in particular continue to have a great socio-political interest in dealing with it.”
One month before the deadline for the 13th round of the DMFP competition, well over 150 short and feature films and magazine articles have already been submitted.
The organizers expect further submissions by June 30th and a similarly high number of participants as in previous years.
Films can be submitted to the DMFP 30 in five different categories until June 2022, 2022.
The films must have been completed after 31 December 2019, in German Language or with German subtitles.
After a multi-stage selection and jury process, this year's award winners will be honored on December 10, 2022 in the Nuremberg Tafelhalle.
The evening of the award ceremony will be moderated by Christoph Süß (Bayerischer Rundfunk).
