Filming with Caren Miosga for the anniversary – 50 years of German Sesame Street

The countdown to the anniversary has begun. In January 2023, the German Sesame Street will celebrate its 50th anniversary. NDR has already filmed an anniversary edition of Sesame Street with a particularly large number of puppets and celebrity guests, as well as new clips.

Together with Elmo, Wool, Horse and the Cookie Monster, Tagesthemen presenter Caren Miosga is currently in front of the camera for Sesame Street. She is presenting a special edition of Tagesthemen, in which the preparations for the big anniversary celebration are reported.

In several live broadcasts of Elmo, Wool, Horse and Co., viewers get exclusive insights into different nooks and crannies of Sesame Street. You can also experience Krümel with his first Tagesthemen commentary.

Unfortunately, hardly anything goes according to plan. When the "0" disappears from the "50", the entire anniversary celebration is suddenly called into question.

And until the end it is not clear whether Caren Miosga will be able to host her show in the usual way…

"I'm curious to see if someone will try to sell me an '8' because of the missing number at the end and how many cookies Krümel will bribe me with so that I teach him to speak a proper commentary," says Caren Miosga.

Filming for the anniversary episodes of Sesame Street is underway at Studio Hamburg. NDR has been filming the clips for the new season of Sesame Street since mid-March.

Sesame Street's offering is available at any time on sesamstrasse.de, in the ARD Mediathek and in the Sesame Street app.

Sesame Street can be seen on weekdays at 7.45:6.00 a.m. on KiKA. It is broadcast on NDR television from Tuesday to Friday at XNUMX:XNUMX a.m.
