TV premiere for the comedy "Grandchildren for Beginners"

Retirement? Not yet! Karin (Maren Kroymann), Gerhard (Heiner Lauterbach) and Philippa (Barbara Sukowa) find their new calling as “surrogate grandparents” and unexpectedly start the most turbulent and fulfilling time of their lives.

Wolfgang Groos directs the entertaining generational comedy – a cinema co-production of ARD Degeto and Bayerischer Rundfunk – based on a screenplay by Robert Löhr with subtle humor and an excellent cast.

Pensioners Karin, Gerhard and Philippa have no interest in Nordic walking or senior citizen courses at the university. And Karin and Gerhard have never had anything to do with children and grandchildren.

That's why Philippa, who lives life to the fullest as Leonie's godmother, helps the two of them to unexpectedly become grandparents.

In no time at all, they have two “lively” godchildren to look after, a huge bouncy castle in the garden and Lego bricks stuck to their feet.
