"The Gamblers" – new series with celebrity cast

Katharina Schüttler, Eko Fresh and Manuel Rubey are Ines, Firat and Jasper: in the prime of life - in their careers, in their relationships, with children. Unexpectedly, but not without reason, an older, wealthy gentleman makes the three of them an unbelievable, tempting offer.

If they try to be happier for a year, each of them will get a million - no matter how it goes. Too good to be true?

Director and screenwriter of the series Michael Hofmann explores in an original way the small, subtle question of where and how we can perhaps find happiness in the midst of our hectic everyday lives.

Karolina Lodyga, Lena Dörrie and Sergej Moya are wonderfully cast in the main cast as partners and also seekers of happiness. One day, the rich and unhappy Mr. Herzinger (Branko Samarovski) discovers a child's wish list in his garden.

“The Gamblers” will be broadcast online first from April 20, 2022 in the ARD Mediathek.

Touched by the little boy's wishes, he sets out to search for the child's family, finds them on a playground and an idea begins to grow.

What if you supported the child's parents or other parents in returning to the happiness that the children so long for?

Mr. Herzinger and his servant Mr. Wagner (Ovidiu Schumacher) put the idea into action and make an irresistible offer to Ines (Katharina Schüttler), the boy's mother, as well as Firat (Eko Fresh) and Jasper (Manuel Rubey).

If the three of them try to be happier for a year, each of them will get a million - no matter how it goes. Ines, Firat and Jasper have to digest this offer first...

Ines, Firat and Jasper decide to accept Mr. Herzinger's offer - for a year they want to try to become happier in order to win a million at the end.

The crux of the matter is that all three must stay involved and no one except the “gamblers” may find out about it.

The first obligatory meetings take place and the three start their sometimes clumsy attempts to find happiness - which does not go entirely unnoticed by their partners Natascha (Karolina Lodyga), Simone (Lena Dörrie) and Max (Sergej Moya)...
