“We Are Here!” – the star line-up at the Cologne charity evening for Ukraine

They came in large numbers and delivered: At the “WirSindDa!” benefit evening in Cologne’s Sartory Halls, over a dozen artists from all over Germany took to the stage last night to raise funds for Ukraine with a packed, four-hour program.

In addition to musical acts such as Sarah Engels, Gregor Meyle, Tom Beck, Madeline Juno, Lucie Licht, Iggi Kelly and Moguai, actress Annette Frier enriched the evening's line-up with a poem recited and bestselling author Nicole Staudinger with a keynote speech.

The two initiators Max Giesinger and Amiaz Habtu opened the evening with a clear message: "We are all here to do what we do best and to support the people who urgently need all the help they can get," said Habtu and Giesinger.

And they kept their promise: lots of good acoustic music, stand-up comedy, poetry slam and even a little magic gave the 350 or so guests an evening full of emotions and solidarity.

The evening’s sponsoring partners were Rewe, Orthomol, Emsan, Tele2, Savoy and Ratisbona.

This was also reflected in the numbers: the preliminary donation amount that was generated in advance by this event through ticket sales, a raffle and partners was already over 80.000 euros shortly before midnight.

One hundred percent of this donation goes to “Emergency Aid Ukraine”, the umbrella organization “Aktion Deutschland Hilft!”, which was also represented in the hall that evening by press spokeswoman Birte Steigert.
