“Paris Police 1905” will be shown in double episodes on Sky Atlantic every Thursday from 8:20.15 p.m. on June XNUMXth, and will also be available on demand via Sky Q and the streaming service Wow.
The broadcast takes place weekly, either in German or in the original language and with German or English subtitles.
The first season of “Paris Police 1900” is also available on Sky Q and Wow.
That's what it's about
Paris, Christmas Eve 1904: An unknown body is found in the Bois de Boulange park. Murder or suicide?
Inspector Antoine Jouin's (Jérémie Laheurte) investigations lead him deep into the darkest underground of Paris, because the Parisian elite also satisfies their forbidden desires in the park.
The young family man Jouin is soon drawn deep into a web of intrigue in which pimps, blackmailers, shady doctors and the corrupt vice squad are interwoven.
Meanwhile, Paris is ravaged by syphilis. Police chief Louis Lepine (Marc Barbé) is under pressure to drive off the streets all those who blame politicians and the media: homosexuals and prostitutes.
Rumors are getting louder that the famous police chief himself is having a secret affair. In fact, his lover Marguerite Steinheil (Evelyne Brochu) has set up an exclusive gambling ring under his protection.
Once again, “Paris Police 1900” recreates Paris at the turn of the century as it has never been seen before: as a contested den of iniquity during the Belle Époque, an era that lasted more than 15 years.
There is a time jump of about five years between seasons one and two, during which major changes have occurred in areas such as lifestyle, technological development, fashion and politics, which have also left their mark on the main characters.
Similar to the Sky co-production “Babylon Berlin”, Nury once again merges a historical crime case, meticulously researched events and personalities and fictional characters into a gripping thriller.
This time the focus is on the corrupt vice squad and their repressive persecution of prostitutes and homosexuals. The bigoted and misogynistic society seems frighteningly current.
French-speaking film and TV stars such as Jérémie Laheurte, Evelyne Brochu and Marc Barbé once again impress in front of the camera.
Production of the third season of the crime series for the premium channel Canal+ is already in progress.
