World Emoji Day – Communication to the point – without words?

There are holidays for absolutely everything. Donuts, pets, and Tetris – but few are as emotionally charged as World Emoji Day on July 17th.

Hooray for yellow faces, dancing avocados, and that one eggplant emoji that's never actually meant in a vegetable context!

Ob in the press distribution listWhether in chats or in the internal Slack group – emojis have long since taken over. They convey emotions, save characters, and can even save a WhatsApp message that's been too direct with a single question mark.

For some, they are the creative glue modern communication, for others the final stage of the language's demise?

But let's be honest: Who needs words when a single question mark can say everything?

Short factual excursus:

◉ July 17th was not chosen arbitrarily – on many devices, the calendar emoji ? shows precisely that day.

◉ What began in 2014 as a small homage to the digital pictogram is now a global reminder: communication can be fun. And: PR can be emoji ?

What do we learn?

Good PR is often recognized by the right mix of content and emotion – and sometimes also by a well-placed [something - likely a reference to a specific element or phrase].

In this spirit: Cheers to all those who embellish their messages with hearts, flames and stars.

And to everyone who never does it: Maybe just give it a try. It can't hurt, right?
