After almost three years, Guido Reinking is leaving the authors' union for mobility. Experienced automotive expert Frank Wald (pictured above) will succeed him as editor-in-chief.
Guido Reinking is leaving "Autoren-Union Mobilität GmbH". The 62-year-old political scientist had worked for the online news agency "Auto-Medienportal" (amp) for about three years – initially as a writer, and then as editor-in-chief from September 2023.

Reinking is now turning to other tasks. His departure comes at a time when the network is currently being restructured – a process he had previously been actively involved in shaping.

Industry veteran Frank Wald
Frank Wald, a founding member and partner of the "Autoren-Union" (Authors' Union), will head the editorial team. The 63-year-old brings decades of experience in automotive and mobility journalism.
After completing his master's degree in cultural studies, politics and sociology in Göttingen, Frankfurt and Hamburg, Wald started his journalistic career at the "Hamburger Morgenpost".
Since 1996 he has worked for renowned media outlets, including the "Deutsche Presse Agentur", "Welt am Sonntag", the "Tagesspiegel", "Auto Bild" and "TV Spielfilm".
Expertise in the automotive industry
Reinking, who previously worked for the "Financial Times Deutschland", headed the editorial board of "Automobilwoche" for nine years and continues to write for business magazines such as "Capital" and "Bilanz".
Walther Wuttke, Managing Director of the "Autoren-Union Mobilität" (Automotive Union Mobility), expressed his regret at Reinking's unexpected decision: "We thank Guido Reinking for the successful collaboration over the past two years. We would have liked to have experienced the results of the ongoing restructuring with him on board."
With Frank Wald, a proven expert is now at the helm of the editorial team, who will drive the further development of the "Auto-Medienportal" in the ongoing realignment phase.
