The real-life series “Frankfurt Airport – Operation around the clock” accompanies those who work there and have a lot to do, especially during the holiday season – now available to watch online on ZDF.

From Monday, July 14, 2025, to Friday, July 18, 2025, the “ZDF-Mittagsmagazin” will broadcast short documentaries from this series between 12.10:14.00 p.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. about various missions and tasks at one of the most important international air traffic hubs.

Follow-Me driver Josef Krenn, terminal duty managers Dimitar Marinov and Nese Altay-Breuer, and aircraft mechanics Thomas Freiwald and Katrin Storek have one thing in common: They are passionate about their Work at the airport.

Authors Inken Klinge and Andrea Meuser accompanied her and others at Frankfurt Airport. They even took off with Captain Steffi Bub.

A small town

Around 80.000 people work at Frankfurt Airport. It's a small-town operation, and the employees help ensure everything runs smoothly and millions of passengers can travel every year.

No plane would take off or land on the apron without ramp agents, follow-me drivers and aircraft mechanics.

Loadmaster & Experts

Loadmasters handle large cargo. Sommeliers and culinary experts test how the food should be prepared to ensure it tastes good even above the clouds.

And in the terminal, the Federal Police and Customs maintain order, while the Terminal Duty Managers help travelers get to the right gate on time.

80 km

In the baggage handling system, technicians keep more than 80 kilometers of baggage belt running. And pilots regularly leave the hustle and bustle of the airport behind when they take off for the skies.
