New association “Herzenssache Kinderkrebs e. V.” founded

Sharam Honarbakhsh, social entrepreneur and founder and managing director of the well-known business network Memberslounge, together with other colleagues, founded the non-profit organization Herzenssache Kinderkrebs e. V.

The aim is to give children and young people suffering from cancer hope, support and a sense of community.

Support in difficult times

“Our goal is to provide hope, support, and a sense of community when everyday life is overshadowed by a cancer diagnosis,” explains Sharam Honarbakhsh, who has been involved in social projects for over 20 years—especially for disadvantaged children.

The idea for founding the association arose when his business partner founded a start-up for complementary cancer therapy a year ago.

“We were aware of the burden families face when a cancer diagnosis is diagnosed and how urgently practical help is needed,” says Honarbakhsh.

Cancer in children: moving figures

In Germany alone, around 3.000 children and young people under the age of 18 are newly diagnosed with cancer every year.

Worldwide, the number is estimated at around 400.000 cases per year in patients under 19 years of age.

Concrete help through complementary therapies

The association Herzenssache Kinderkrebs e. V. (Children's Cancer Foundation) started with ten founding members and three advisory board members. Its focus is on practical support in the form of complementary medical treatments that can be used alongside conventional cancer therapy.

“We finance complementary therapies for families that many cannot afford,” Honarbakhsh continued.

"The goal is to reduce side effects and improve treatment outcomes. We want to give hope and make the world a better place—especially for the most vulnerable in our society."

Charity dinner in November

A first charity event is planned to finance the association's work: On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Sharam Honarbakhsh and Claas-Henrik Anklam invite you to a charity dinner at the "Claas" restaurant in Hamburg's HafenCity.

On this special evening, donations will be collected for the project “Herzenssache Kinderkrebs e. V.”
