Stephanie Müller-Spirra will join “Wunderschön!” from 2026.

The popular WDR travel program “Wunderschön!” is getting reinforcements: Stephanie Müller-Spirra will present several episodes of the report series from 2026.

The experienced presenter thus joins the proven team, which already includes Tamina Kallert, Judith Rakers, Ramon Babazadeh and André Gatzke.

Presenter on new paths

Müller-Spirra is already familiar to television viewers from various formats. She has been part of the Sportschau presenting team since January 2019.

In February 2026, she will co-present the Winter Olympics from Italy with Esther Sedlaczek. She has also been hosting the program "MDR um vier" on Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) since March 2022.

Football fans may also remember her from the European Championship pub quiz on the Sportschau program during the 2024 European Championship.

Travel destinations in Europe and North Africa

For "Wunderschön!", Müller-Spirra has already explored various destinations. Viewers can look forward to diverse episodes.

In July 2026, the trip will go to Morocco; in late summer, Budapest and Lake Balaton, as well as the Feldberg Lakes, are on the itinerary. Also in late summer or during the autumn school holidays, a trip to Istria and the Kvarner Bay is planned, followed by a trip to Slovenia in the autumn.

"Here I rode horses, flew, hiked through caves and cycled," the presenter reports about her filming experiences.

Cooperation project of the broadcasters

The travel documentary “Wunderschön!” has been produced by WDR since 2008.

From 2026 onwards, the format will develop into a joint project of WDR, MDR and SWR – with SWR already involved as a cooperation partner for some time.

The format has established itself as a television program that appeals to travel enthusiasts. Each episode focuses on impressive landscapes, people from the respective region, and the cultural and culinary specialties of the destinations.

Broadcast dates and availability

The program usually airs on Sundays at 20:15 p.m. on WDR television. MDR and SWR broadcast "Wunderschön!" in seasons during their travel programming slots – MDR on Sundays at 20:15 p.m., and SWR on Fridays at the same time.

All available episodes can be accessed at any time in the ARD Mediathek and on the ARD Reisen YouTube channel.

Yesterday, December 5, 2025, Stephanie Müller-Spirra was also a guest on the show “Riverboat” on MDR television.
