“NCIS: Origins” – A look into the past

Even more from the “NCIS” universe: Sat.1 will be showing the new Series spinoff “NCIS: Origins,” narrated by Mark Harmon, celebrates the return of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

The prequel shows the beginnings of NCIS and accompanies the young agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) on his rise to special agent.

Background

“NCIS: Origins” is a American Crime series and a prequel to the well-known series “NCIS” (original title: “NCIS”), which tells the backstory of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

The series begins in 1991: It shows how the young Gibbs – then a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and recently retired from the military – joins the then agency NIS (Naval Investigative Service, later NCIS) after the murder of his wife and daughter.

Conclusion

Gibbs is accepted into the team of Special Agent Mike Franks, who becomes his mentor.

The new series is therefore relevant for fans who want to learn more about Gibbs' past and his development into a legendary team leader...
