Background
“NCIS: Origins” is a American Crime series and a prequel to the well-known series “NCIS” (original title: “NCIS”), which tells the backstory of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
The series begins in 1991: It shows how the young Gibbs – then a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and recently retired from the military – joins the then agency NIS (Naval Investigative Service, later NCIS) after the murder of his wife and daughter.
