The Low German writing competition starts

The former Viva presenter and current baking expert is the ambassador of this year's writing competition "Vertell doch mal" from NDR, Radio Bremen and Ohnsorg Theater, which starts today.

She discovered her love for Low German as a little girl with her grandparents: "I think it's great when you make such small languages bigger."
Authors have until March 1, 2025 to submit their short story on the topic of “Mit'nanner” to “Vertell doch mal”. There are prize money totaling more than 5.000 euros to be won.
The 26 best stories will be published as a book, including the best submission for the “Vertell-doch-mal” young talent award “Ü-18” (“Ünner 18”).
Enie van de Meiklokjes' tip for writing ideas: "Sometimes the everyday things that happen are so remarkable that you should simply record them as a story."
The six best stories of the year will be announced and awarded prizes at a gala in the Ohnsorg Theater in Hamburg on June 22nd.
You may submit a self-written, previously unpublished Low German text on the topic of “Mit'nanner” of a maximum of one and a half pages.
It can be submitted by email or by post with the keyword “Vertell doch mal”.
