“WaPo Bodensee” celebrates with a double episode

The successful ARD crime series reaches a milestone: On December 30, 2025, Das Erste will show the anniversary episodes of the water police series.
The water police team has been investigating on Lake Constance since January 2017 – and a special event is coming up at the end of the year.
Because the 99th and 100th episodes of the popular ARD-Series They will go on air on December 30, 2025.
"The Princess Returns" starts at 18:00 p.m., followed by the anniversary episode "The Dirty Kid" at 18:50 p.m. Both episodes are available simultaneously in the ARD Mediathek (ARD Media Library).
Record ratings in the seventh season
The investigative team around Nele (Floriane Daniel), Paul (Tim Wilde), Julia (Wendy Güntensperger) and Jakob (Max König) convinces the audience more than ever.
The current seventh season is achieving the best ratings in the series' history, averaging a 14,5 percent market share. Almost nine years after its launch, "WaPo Bodensee" has established itself as a fixture on German television.
Sven Sund, CEO and producer at Saxonia Media, emphasizes the importance of the series: "This success story shows what can result from long-term creative development work. Over almost 100 episodes, it has been possible to continuously expand market share."
The starting signal for the WaPo universe
Barbara Biermann, Executive Producer at SWR, highlights the series' role as a pioneer.
Currently, four different water police teams investigate on different bodies of water in Germany on Tuesday evenings.
The combination of unusual criminal cases, the strong team of investigators and the picturesque Lake Constance setting defines the character of the series.
The eighth season starts in January.
Fans of the series won't have to wait long for new episodes. The eighth season of "WaPo Bodensee" will air on ARD starting January 13, 2026.
Guest stars include Marion Mitterhammer, Walter Kreye, Antje Schmidt, and Nadja Bobyleva. SWR promises more exciting crime stories and emotional tales from Lake Constance.
