"The Hunt" – ProSieben sends celebrities hunting in the forest
New reality competition starts on May 12, 2026 on ProSieben and Joyn: From Tuesday, May 12, 2026, ProSieben will show the new reality format “The Hunt – Which celebrity is easy prey?”.
Each episode airs at 22:35 PM and features eight celebrities playing an extraordinary game of tag in the middle of a Bulgarian forest – always in double episodes, always on ProSieben and simultaneously on the streaming platform Joyn.

The game principle: Hunter versus hunted
The concept is incredibly simple, and that's precisely its strength: Four celebrities take on the role of the hunters, four others are the hunted. For hours, they engage in a chase through the middle of nowhere in the Bulgarian forest.
If the hunted are caught, the two parties immediately switch roles – the hunter becomes prey, and the prey becomes the hunter. The role in which one finishes the game determines the overall victory.
Whoever leaves the forest as the hunted gets a say in which hunter must leave the show. This not only secures that person the chance to win, but also the prize money they've earned.
ProSieben CEO explains the format
Hannes Hiller, head of ProSieben, describes "The Hunt" as a mixture of blockbuster suspense and reality TV: “'Hunger Games' meets reality: This is 'The Hunt'.”
According to Hiller, participants need more than just physical fitness and nerves of steel; they need one thing above all: strategic thinking. Those who just run won't win – those who pull the right strings have a real chance.
Hiller also emphasizes the international dimension of the production: The format was created in close collaboration with the British broadcaster Channel 4 and was produced simultaneously in both markets in order to share resources and creative know-how.
Co-production with British Channel 4
“The Hunt” was developed within the Seven. One Studios by Redseven Entertainment and is a true international co-production.
The British version, “The Hunt: Prey vs Predator”, already aired on Channel 4 from March 22, 2026, produced by CPL Productions and Motion Entertainment.
The German version for ProSieben and Joyn comes from Redseven Entertainment and Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media Company.
