Watch the European Handball Championship match between Germany and Croatia on TV
After the spectacular victory against defending champions France, the DHB team is in the semi-finals of the European Handball Championship.
On Friday, a special encounter awaits the team of national coach Alfred Gislason in Herning.
The German handball team has secured its place in the semi-finals. Following yesterday's victory against France, they will now face Croatia – the group winner of the second main round group – on Friday, January 30th, at 17:45 pm.
Opponents with a special touch
The duel holds several exciting aspects: In the preparation games at the beginning of January, Germany was able to win twice in a row against the Croatians.
The match becomes even more intriguing due to the reunion with Dagur Sigurdsson. The Icelander now manages Croatia, but led Germany to the European Championship title in 2016.
The German Handball Federation (DHB) team has a chance to win its first European Championship medal in ten years. Anticipation is correspondingly high.

ARD will broadcast the semi-final from 17:15 pm on Das Erste and simultaneously on ARD. Media Library.
Alex Schlüter will host the event together with ARD expert Dominik Klein, while Florian Naß and Johannes Bitter will provide commentary.
Following this, the second semi-final will take place from 20:15 pm (throw-off 20:30 pm): World champion and Olympic champion Denmark will face Iceland.

The enthusiasm for the European Handball Championship is reflected in impressive spectator numbers.
The main round match against Portugal was watched by 4,024 million people (market share: 34,5 percent), while the blockbuster against Denmark even attracted 7,877 million viewers – a market share of 29,1 percent.
The digital offerings are also recording record figures: The live streams in the ARD Mediathek and at sportschau.de have been accessed around seven million times so far.
