The German hotel landscape is receiving a new indicator of quality: The "Fine Hotels Ntv" seal of approval is aimed at hotels in the upscale quality and comfort segment and promises transparency in hotel booking.
Evaluation procedures as a basis
The seal is jointly sponsored by the news channel Ntv, the IU International University and Fine Hotels.
The awarding of the quality seal follows a scientifically developed procedure, overseen by Prof. Dr. Annegret Wittmann-Wurzer and Prof. Dr. Peter Thuy of the IU International University.
The rating system combines three elements: authentic guest reviews form the basis, hotels provide standardized self-reported information, and an independent panel of experts monitors compliance with quality standards.
Benefits for guests and businesses
Only hotels that consistently demonstrate very high standards receive the award. This is intended to allow travelers to see at a glance which hotels meet high standards.
Hotel guests benefit from improved comparability when making their booking decisions. The seal creates reliability in a market often characterized by opaque rating systems.
The award provides hoteliers with Media a clear positioning vis-à-vis competitors.
Visibility and costs
In addition to visibility on ntv.de, in social media channels and newsletters, certified companies can use the seal for employee recruitment and retention.
Communication takes place via the Fine Hotels and Ntv platforms, supplemented by an annual industry event. The annual cost per hotel for the certification is currently unknown.
Interested hotels can find details about participation and the award criteria on the website at fine-hotels.de.
