Abarth Day 2017 in Hockenheim was a complete success
The number of Abarth owners is growing all the time. In response, the official fan club "The Scorpionship" almost doubled the number of locations for the annual meeting. International Abarth Day took place in a total of seven countries in 2017. After the kick-off in France at the beginning of May, Italy, Great Britain, Portugal, Austria and Spain followed.
The final took place yesterday at the ADAC Driving Safety Center at the Hockenheimring – a must-attend event for German fans of the traditional brand with the characteristic scorpion emblem.
The event at the Hockenheimring attracted a total of over 600 visitors and around 250 Abarths from all over Germany and the surrounding countries - Belgium, France and Switzerland. After just a short time, the parking lot was filled with a colorful mix of Abarth models. No surprise, after all, the day had many attractions.
Abarth owners were able to complete various driving exercises with their vehicle under the guidance of professional instructors. Test drives with the current production models were also on the program.
But even those who didn't travel with their own vehicle got their money's worth: they could put their driving skills to the test in various competitions. A special attraction was a ride in the Fiat 124 Drift Taxi, where you could experience the vehicles at their limits.
The activities were complemented by a wide range of entertainment, including driving simulators, exhibitions by Abarth's technology partners and the Abarth Fan Shop, where MOPAR®, the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) brand specialising in accessories, offered, among other things, a clothing collection specially developed for Abarth Day 2017.
There was also an extensive exhibition of historic Abarth models. The brand's latest models were also on site. A particular highlight was the Abarth 695 Rivale, which celebrated its German premiere at Abarth Day. The most elaborate Abarth special model to date is a joint production with the Italian yacht builder Riva.
