Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: European automobile market in February 2017

In February, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles again achieved results above the market average in Europe (EU28 + EFTA). With around 88.000 new registrations, FCA achieved an increase in sales of 8,7 percent (compared to a market increase of 2,1 percent) and improved its market share by 0,5 percentage points to 7,9 percent compared to the same month last year. This is the best market share since March 2010 and puts FCA in fourth place among manufacturers in Europe.

The first two months of the year also saw positive results: around 172.000 new registrations of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, corresponding to an increase of 11,8 percent in a market growth of 6,1 percent. FCA's market share was 7,4 percent, an increase of 0,4 percentage points compared to 2016.

In February, FCA also achieved excellent sales results in Italy (+7,2 percent on a market growth of 6,2 percent), Germany (+18,4 percent on a market decline of 2,6 percent), France (+6,0 percent on a market decline of 2,9 percent) and Spain (+12,2 percent on a market growth of 0,1 percent).

The number of new registrations of the Fiat brand in Europe in February was 65.800 (+8,3 percent compared to the same month last year) and the market share increased by 0,3 percentage points to 5,9 percent compared to the same month last year.

In the first two months of the year, Fiat's new registrations exceeded 129.300 (+12,6 percent compared to the same period last year). Market share was 5,6 percent (+0,3 percentage points compared to the previous year).

In February 2017, sales of the Fiat brand increased in Italy (+6,1 percent), in Germany (+18,1 percent), in France (+7,3 percent) and in Spain (+16,9 percent).

With the Fiat Panda and the Fiat 500, the best-selling vehicles in the A segment, which achieved a combined segment share of 32,5 percent, the Fiat brand continues to lead this segment.

In the first two months of the year, sales of the Fiat Panda increased by 3,1 percent and those of the Fiat 500 by 6,7 percent (compared to the same period last year).

The other members of the Fiat 500 family, the Fiat 500L and the Fiat 500X, also recorded excellent results in February. The Fiat 500L was the best-selling car in its segment with more than 7500 units sold and a segment share of 32,2 percent.

The Fiat 500X remained among the five best-selling cars in its segment, with sales increasing by 0,4 percent compared to the previous year.

The two vehicles are the best-selling cars in Italy, with a segment share of 62,8 and 18,6 percent respectively in their segment.

The Fiat Tipo is on a continuous growth path in the competitive C segment, achieving positive results especially in Italy, France and Poland. The Fiat 124 Spider remains one of the five best-selling cars in its segment.

The Lancia/Chrysler brand achieved a result above the market average. In February 2017, the number of new registrations was around 7.300 units (+5,3 percent compared to February 2016). The market share rose by 0,1 percentage points to 0,7 percent.

In the first two months of the year, the number of new registrations for Lancia was 13.100 (+4,0 percent) and the market share was 0,6 percent.

With a sales increase of 5,9 percent, the brand achieved an excellent result in Italy in February.

The Lancia Ypsilon increased its sales in Europe by 5,7 percent in February compared to the same month last year.

February was a successful month for the Alfa Romeo brand: the number of new registrations amounted to around 6300 (+23,5 percent compared to the previous year) and the market share was 0,6 percent (+0,1 percentage points compared to February 2016).

In the first two months of the year, the number of new registrations of Alfa Romeo was around 12.300 (+27,2 percent compared to the same period last year) and the market share was 0,5 percent (+0,1 percentage points).

In February, the brand achieved positive results in Germany (sales up 77,0 percent) and in the UK (+18,8 percent).

In February, the Giulia model continued to increase its sales. Following the international presentation of the Stelvio model, Alfa Romeo's first SUV, which is already available in some countries, more than 1.000 orders have already been received. The model will quickly make a positive contribution to the brand's monthly results.

In February 2017, the number of new registrations for the Jeep brand amounted to 8.000 (+1,3 percent) and the market share remained unchanged at 0,7 percent.

In the first two months of the year, the number of new registrations was around 15.500 and the market share remained unchanged at 0,7 percent.

In February, the Jeep brand increased its sales in Italy (+4,2 percent) and France (+2,1 percent), as well as in Switzerland (+35,2 percent), Austria (+12,4 percent) and Poland (+9,7 percent).

The Jeep Renegade, which remains one of the best-selling cars in its segment in Europe, increased its sales by 12,4 percent compared to the previous year.

The luxury brand Maserati sold 2017 vehicles in Europe in February 718 and 1.723 vehicles in the first two months of the year.
