Catrin Bialek appointed editor-in-chief of “Horizont”

As of July 2025, the DFV Media Group has appointed Catrin Bialek (in the photo above) as editor-in-chief of the specialist media “Horizont”.

In this role, the experienced journalist will work closely with editor-in-chief Eva-Maria Schmidt.

The expansion of staff follows the withdrawal of Dr. Uwe Vorkötter, who ended his role as editor at his own request.

Catrin Bialek has been working as a correspondent for “Horizont” in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony since 2022 and presents nationally renowned industry events like the “Horizon” Congress.

Previously, the graduate economist worked for the Handelsblatt Media Group for almost 25 years in various journalistic roles.

Dr. Uwe Vorkötter is stepping down after more than a decade in editorial leadership. As editor-in-chief and publisher, he significantly shaped the specialist publication and consolidated its position as a leading platform for Marketing, advertising and media.

He will remain associated with the media group and will continue to oversee and moderate the Sportbusiness Leaders Forum and the Sportbusiness Leaders Awards.
