Five mothers on an unusual reconnaissance mission

A Google search for "porn" yields around one billion results. With just one more click, you're taken to videos showcasing everything imaginable within the broad spectrum of sexuality. Age restrictions? Non-existent.

"Imagine your son or daughter watching such videos and having had no sexual experience at all before. They think it's normal," says Jasmine (36 years old, 2 children), summing up the problem of this freely accessible depiction of sexual play.

Together with four other mothers, she made a decision: They would produce a porn film on their own that would give young people a realistic picture of sex. With people who look like you and me and who meet each other as equals, passionately and appreciatively.

The two-part Sat.1 documentary "Mothers Make Porn" accompanies the five women on their journey through the world of pornography on July 22 and 29, 2020, each at 20:15 p.m. What initially sounds like an ingenious and easy-to-implement idea quickly turns out to be a Pandora's box: Not only the development of a storyline for your own porn and the search for suitable actors becomes a challenge.

The question of what exactly is “normal” sex – and what isn’t – also causes controversy among the five women… A visit to Erika Lust, award-winning pioneer of feminist porn, in Barcelona is intended to clear up the differences and provide inspiration.

Or is the situation now escalating even more? The mothers act as producers in the documentary, take care of the script and the casting, but are not actors themselves.

Following the second documentary episode, Sat.1 will show selected scenes from the porn film “Vanilla X – The Movie” produced by the five mothers on July 29, 2020 at 22:20 p.m. in an edited form that complies with youth protection regulations and is commented on.

“Mums Make Porn” is produced by Redseven Entertainment, a subsidiary of Red Arrow Studios, and is an adaptation of the British documentary format “Mums Make Porn” by Firecracker Films for Channel 4.
