All information about the 34th German Camera Award

Competition start for the 34th German Camera Award: From December 1, 2023 to January 12, 2024, image designers and editors can apply for an award with the prestigious prize, which has been honoring outstanding achievements in the field of camera and editing since 1982.

This year, productions will be awarded prizes in the following categories: Fiction Cinema, Fiction Screen, Short Film, Information and Culture, Documentary Cinema and Documentary Screen.

In addition, the Board of Trustees of the German Camera Prize will again award an honorary prize and a young talent prize.

To apply, participants must register online and upload their submissions as a video file at deutscher-kamerapreis.de.

The prerequisite for an application is that the submitted productions were completed and technically accepted between January 1 and December 31, 2023.

The nominations and winners in the individual categories are decided by independent juries with experts from the fields of camera, editing, directing, editorial, production and the specialist press.

Camera work, lighting design and optical perception as well as the performance of the image and sound editing are evaluated.

This time the jury week will take place from January 29 to February 2, 2024 at the SWR in Baden-Baden.

And the award ceremony is planned for May 24, 2024 in Cologne.
