New young artists wanted for July 2020

A new talent award for young musicians has been announced again. The deadline for entries is February 1, 2020, and the winners will then perform in front of over 8.000 festival visitors at three concerts in July.

Since 1987, groups and soloists have been invited to apply for the well-known sponsorship prize, which is endowed with a total of 15.000 euros. The performances at "Lieder auf Banz" will take place from July 2020 to 2, 4.

The three winners will not only be able to present themselves alongside the established stars on the big stage on the monastery meadow for two days, but will also receive the attention of the audience beforehand at the concert of the young award winners in the large hall of Banz Monastery.

Prof. Hans-Peter Niedermeier of the Hanns-Seidel Foundation sees this award as a "great start to a large audience," because the young artists usually play in front of an audience of just 100 to 400 fans. Here they have the opportunity to present themselves to 4.000 guests each on two evenings.

Some artists – such as Bodo Wartke, Viva Voce, Sarah Straub or Roger Stein – always find their way back to the “Banz cultural and musical family”, where they then perform as established artists years after receiving the young talent award.
