Media pirates take over EgoFM

After weeks of uncertainty, it is now official: the alternative radio station EgoFM will continue.

After the previous operating company had to file for insolvency and threatened with final closure on June 30, 2025, it is now clear – EgoFM will continue to exist.

Medienpiraten GmbH, owned by Munich entrepreneur Stefan Finkenzeller, will take over the brand and broadcasting concept with effect from July 1, 2025.

For Finkenzeller it is clear: "EgoFM is simply too valuable to disappear. This station is unique in the German radio landscape. "

Moderators stay on board

Particularly pleasing for listeners: The well-known presenters Elise Hoffmann and Dominik Kollmann remain part of the program.

Other team members will also continue their work, preserving EgoFM's signature sound and spirit.

New chapter for EgoFM

The new owner, Medienpiraten GmbH, not only wants to save EgoFM but also develop it strategically. The goal is to put the station on a solid financial footing and strengthen it sustainably.

The new licensing was supported by the Bavarian State Office for New Media (BLM) and the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg (LFK).

Conclusion

The radio stations EgoFM was founded in Bavaria in 2008 and sees itself as a "brave new radio world." With an alternative music selection, social attitudes, and urban themes, the program is aimed at listeners between the ages of 20 and 49.

With the successful transition to Medienpiraten GmbH, EgoFM is moving into the future with renewed strength. Fortunately for all those who love genuine music journalism and authentic radio.
