In the new podcast “Weird Animals” by RBB and Undone for ARD, hosts Tereza Hossa and Robin König alias Robinga Schnögelrögel dedicate themselves every week to the weird, exciting and funny sides of the animal world.
It is a declaration of love to axolotls, calico crabs and many others. But above all, "Weird Animals" is a comedy knowledge podcast - available exclusively in the ARD Audiothek from June 25, 2024.
New episodes will be broadcast every Tuesday on a weekly basis.
That's what it's about
Animals can be quite peculiar: some are able to regenerate their organs, others show absolutely no fear of predators, and still others dismantle entire ecosystems.
In each new podcast episode, one host introduces an animal to the other and explains what makes it a “weird animal.” They also always look at the bigger picture – the future of humans and animals.
Why does the axolotl, the Mexican caudate amphibian, simply not grow up? Why is the calico crab, originally native to North America, now wreaking havoc here as a “biological vacuum cleaner”?
And what exactly is a great bustard? Humorous, personable and with a love for the odd, the two hosts in "Weird Animals" impart their concentrated knowledge about the peculiarities of a wide variety of animals.
Background
Tereza Hossa lives in Vienna and is a veterinarian. The 29-year-old is now one of the most famous young cabaret artists in Austria. With the podcast "Weird Animals" she can finally combine her two vocations.
Robin König is a passionate animal expert and "plantfluencer": From his garden, the 25-year-old Berliner regularly reaches hundreds of thousands of people via social media as Robinga Schnögelrögel. He is now also sharing his expertise with the podcast world.
The first episode of “Weird Animals” will be available exclusively in the ARD Audiothek from June 25th. After that, a new episode will be released weekly, every Tuesday.
