To this end, Autohaus Kummich GmbH has acquired a total of 2.448 certificates to offset its own CO2 emissions, which support socially and ecologically sustainable projects such as the reforestation of forests in Uruguay or a cooking stove project in Malawi. The validity of these projects to save CO2 emissions is guaranteed by testing bodies such as TÜV Nord.
By purchasing climate protection certificates, Kummich is following the Kyoto Protocol, which requires that if direct CO2 emissions cannot be reduced, they should be offset by supporting CO2-saving climate protection projects.

The company's expected emission values were forecast by the sustainability consulting company Fokus Zukunft using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG), which prescribes internationally binding regulations for accounting for CO2 emissions.
Autohaus Kummich GmbH has been a family-run business in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria for over 30 years. FCA's trading partner now has a total of eleven locations where vehicles of the Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Abarth and Jeep brands are sold.
The company employs around 280 people across all locations. Autohaus Kummich GmbH is also a supporter of the Alliance for Development and Climate, which aims to implement Agenda 2030, the global sustainability agenda.
