News from Büttenwarder: Three episodes filmed

What does death look like? In “Neues aus Büttenwarder” Matthias Matschke takes on the role: The actor can be seen as “Speelmann” in one of the three episodes of the NDR cult series that have just been produced.

And Suzanne von Borsody also makes a guest appearance - as Ylvie, sister of farmer Adsche Tönnsen (Peter Heinrich Brix). An important theme of the new episodes is the death and farewell of Kurt Brakelmann, Adsche's lifelong friend.

With this, the “Büttenwarder” team is responding to the death of Jan Fedder in December 2019. As farmer Brakelmann, he was the main character in the series since the beginning in 1997, together with Peter Heinrich Brix, and was always looking for the “face value” of the events in the fictional village.

In addition to Adsche, the other “Büttenwarder” residents can also be seen again: stable boy Kuno (Sven Walser), innkeeper Shorty (Axel Olsson), mayor Günther Griem (Jürgen Uter), Uncle Krischan (Hans Kahlert) and hairdresser Jürgen Seute (Dirk Martens).

Axel Milberg is once again in an episode as farmer Hajo Narkmeyer. For director Matthias Koßmehl, it was the “Büttenwarder” premiere. He directed the three episodes from June 22 to July 9 in Granderheide, Grande, Grönwohld, Linau and Witzhave – all in the Stormarn district – as well as in Basthorst (Duchy of Lauenburg district).

The funeral scene was filmed in the local cemetery. Episode 92 was written by Norbert Eberlein, who has written almost all of the scripts for the NDR series to date. Episodes 93 and 94 were written by Valentin Holch based on a script by Eckhard Theophil.

Maximilian Lips was behind the camera, the producer was Valentin Holch (Polyphon Film- und Fernsehgesellschaft). The editor is Diana Schulte-Kellinghaus. NDR television is expected to show episodes 92-94 in the upcoming Christmas program.
