Each episode highlights the hotspots of a major German city. The new episodes feature Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Bremen, Leipzig, and the Ruhr region.
The new episodes will be broadcast from January 9, 2025, every Thursday at 20:15 p.m. on RTLZwei.
One of the drug scenes highlighted is Bremen Central Station. There, the report accompanies women suffering from addiction and documents the problems that women have to deal with in the drug scene.
As users of hard drugs, they need a lot of money every day. Some see no other way out than to become prostitutes. This is the case with 21-year-old Lara. After her single mother died, she ended up on the streets two and a half years ago.
Lara still suffers from the loss to this day. Every day she spends many hours restlessly at the train station - buying and consuming crack, which she finances through begging and prostitution.
In Cologne, too, the situation at the central drug hotspots is becoming increasingly serious. Citizens' initiatives are raising the alarm: by 2024, the situation will have worsened dramatically again.
One reason for this is that crack has replaced heroin as the dominant drug, with dramatic consequences. Experts are observing a massive increase in psychological problems in the Cologne scene and an increasing impoverishment of addicts.
New episodes of “Hard Germany – Life in Focus” will be broadcast from January 9th, every Thursday at 20:15 p.m., on RTLZwei.
The preview of the episodes can be seen seven days before broadcast in the premium area on RTL+.
After the TV broadcast, they are available free of charge on RTL+ for seven days, after which they are available again in the premium area.
The program is produced by Spiegel TV GmbH.
