Documentary film “Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero” – intimate portrait of the artist
From May 20, 2024, the documentary film “Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero” will be available digitally for purchase and rental for home cinema.
Directed by Oscar-nominated filmmakers Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel, the film follows Grammy award winner Lil Nas X during his first North American tour in support of his debut album “Long Live Montero.”

The film offers an intimate glimpse into the life of the artist, who grapples with questions of identity, family, societal expectations, and his place in the legacy of Black queer artists.
Viewers experience Lil Nas X as close as ever as he shares personal experiences – from his childhood in the Deep South to his rapid rise to fame as a 23-year-old artist.
“Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero” also presents breathtaking performances of his global hits such as “Industry Baby” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.
The work celebrated its world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and promises a striking portrait of an artist who is redefining the boundaries of pop culture.

Lil Nas X is a 25-year-old award-winning rapper, singer and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia, who Billboard has called an “internationally recognized phenomenon.”

The rights to the documentary film belong to Universal Pictures Content Group.
