“In the Grey”: Guy Ritchie with a new action thriller

Guy Ritchie returns to his strengths with "In the Grey" – delivering exactly what he is known for: smart action, dry humor and an ensemble that is hard to beat.

The story centers on a team of elite agents operating in the legal and moral gray areas of global power structures.

Their mission: to bring to justice a ruthless despot who has embezzled one billion dollars.

The setting is a highly secured private island – and there, a supposed repatriation mission develops into a strategic power struggle where trust is a weakness and every plan is only valid until it is no longer valid.

Jake Gyllenhaal, most recently seen in "The Bride" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home", takes on one of the main roles.

Alongside him are Henry Cavill, known from "Man of Steel" and "Codename UNCLE", as well as Eiza González ("3 Body Problem", "Baby Driver") and Rosamund Pike, who became known through "Gone Girl" and "Now You See Me" among others.

What sets Ritchie apart from other action directors is his distinctive rhythm: scenes that are both fast-paced and witty, characters that seem brilliant and flawed at the same time, and a direction that is stylish without taking itself too seriously.

“In the Grey” seems to be staying exactly in this vein – with spectacular locations, physical action and the typical Ritchie flair.

The film will then be released in cinemas from May 21, 2026, by Leonine Studios.
