Documentary: 25 Years of Formula 1 on Sky

Sky Deutschland is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Formula 1 broadcasts tomorrow. A quarter of a century ago, on July 28, 1996, Sky (then DF1) broadcast a Formula 1 race live for the first time in Hockenheim.

There have been 433 races to date, with only the 2018 season having no broadcasts.

Sky is dedicating the documentary “25 Years of Formula 1 on Sky” to the anniversary and summarizing a quarter of a century of motorsport history.

Many contemporary witnesses and protagonists also have their say.

The documentary will be broadcast on Sunday at 13.00 p.m. on Sky Sport News and at 18.45 p.m. on Sky Sport F1 and will be available on demand on Sky Q, skysport.de and Sky Ticket.

The 434th broadcast in the broadcaster’s history awaits Formula 1 fans next weekend, when the World Championship battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen enters the next round in Budapest.

The race weekend begins with the preview show “Warm-up – the motorsport special”.
