football legend – the Sky Original "Totti – Il Capitano"

Italian champion, two-time cup winner, top scorer, player of the year and world champion: Francesco Totti is THE football god of Italy.

After a documentary was already produced based on his memoirs (available on Sky Ticket and Sky Q), the dazzling life of the former football captain is now being made into a series.

“Totti – Il Capitano” will be shown in double episodes every Thursday at 30:20.15 p.m. on Sky Atlantic from September 30th. The entire season will also be available on demand from September XNUMXth on the streaming service Sky Ticket and via Sky Q.

The six-part series highlights the last two years of the Italian football legend's career: Francesco Totti has now been captain of the AS Roma football club for 20 years.

Although he was courted by the biggest football clubs in the world, the “Eighth King of Rome”, affectionately known by fans, never left his beloved hometown club AS Roma.

But now, in 2016, at the age of 39, it is time to think about ending his career. Nevertheless, Totti still hopes that he can play for a few more years.

But when trailer Luciano Spalletti returns to AS Roma after seven years, Totti sees his plans called into question, even though Spalletti was once a friend and great admirer of his.

The six-part Sky Original is based on the book Un capitano by Francesco Totti and Paolo Condò and focuses on the last two years of the famous Roma captain's career until his poignant farewell after 27 years in the Giallorossi jersey.

With the help of archive footage and flashbacks, “Totti – Il Capitano” captures dramatic moments on and off the football pitch, the ups and downs in his life right up to his moving farewell.

Pietro Castellitto plays the title role, Greta Scarano plays Totti's wife Ilary Blasiin. The film was directed by Luca Ribuoli ("La mafia uccide solo d'estate").
