"The King of Palma" - Mallorca trip with Henning Baum

Buenos días, Matthias, we're back: At the Ballermann in the nineties. This is exactly where the six-part drama "The King of Palma" is set, about Matthias "Matti" Adler, played by Henning Baum, who opens a beer garden on the Playa de Palma.

After initial success, he and his family soon find themselves caught up in a whirlpool of bribery, blackmail and violence from which they can no longer escape.

The RTL+ original shows the untold microcosm of Mallorca at the beginning of the 1990s. A time on the island that was extravagant, but also quite frightening.

UFA Fiction produced the series on behalf of RTL+ from April to July 2021 in Mallorca.

Henning Baum is in front of the camera in his first leading role in a series since “The Last Cop”, with the other leading roles being played by Sandra Borgmann (“Dark”) and Pia-Micaela Barucki (“Charité”).

Also taking part are André Hennicke (“Sophie Scholl – The Final Days”), Sönke Möhring (“Inglourious Basterds”), Eva Mona Rodekirchen (“Good Times, Bad Times”), Martin Semmelrogge (“Das Boot”) and Lucas Cordalis.

“The King of Palma” will be broadcast on RTL+ from February 24, 2022, with the free TV premiere on RTL later in the year.

Also on February 24th, the documentary “Möhring & Baum – In action with GSG9 professionals” will be broadcast on RTL+, in which Henning Baum and Wotan Wilke Möhring complete a GSG9 training session.
