The new web series "Frankenstream, the digital monster"
“Frankenstream, the Digital Monster” is an ecological fable about the rise of a gadget that emerged in the corners of the Internet and has become an indispensable technology of the 2020s – streaming.
The four-part web series by Pierre-Philippe Berson and Adrien Pavillard will premiere on arte.tv from November 29, 2022.

You can watch it on YouTube, Netflix or Amazon, listen to it on Spotify and work with it via Zoom.
Its fate is reminiscent of Frankenstein: it was born by accident and saw the light of day in the still untouched and peaceful web of the 1990s.
It took its first steps with live streaming, then with horribly pixelated music videos. From 2000 onwards it grew with ADSL and exploded thanks to YouTube.
The smartphone turns it into a monster, the pandemic gives it wings. But as practical as it may be, streaming goes against all ecological conventions and suffocates us under an insane carbon footprint.
This series meets the founding fathers of streaming, examines its history and its conquest of the world, and ultimately questions our blindness to digital pollution.
Built as a collage of archives, interviews and memes, this series paints a sad but true portrait of global streaming.
All episodes are translated into six languages for Arte.
