The drama “A risky decision” will be shown on ZDF on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 20.15:XNUMX p.m.
Based on a true story, author Jörg Tensing developed the screenplay after Elmar Fischer directed it.
Father Michael Wagner (Christian Erdmann) finds out that the small Berlin pharmaceutical company Berner & Braun is researching a cure that has already been tested on humans in Asia and is supposed to slow down, possibly even stop, the progression of the disease.
The Wagners are therefore demanding that Dr. Julia Schemmel, the new CEO of Berner & Braun, conduct a study for German children as well as a so-called compassionate use, i.e. the release of the drug that is not yet ready for the market.
The TV film of the week will be available in the ZDF Mediathek from Monday, February 14, 2022, 10.00:XNUMX a.m.
But Dr. Schemmel is supposed to consolidate the young company and the company, which is on the verge of success, has to invest hundreds of millions for each drug – an enormous pressure.
In a personal conversation, she, herself still involuntarily childless, tries to explain to Nicole (Annika Blendl) and Michael Wagner the risks of prematurely issuing the medication.
But how are the parents supposed to understand this? Touched by his encounter with the Wagners, Dr. Schemmel begins to look for a way to help the family, but still can't find a moment's peace.
Father Michael instigates a major public uprising and is not afraid to give this evil pharmaceutical company a face and even personally attack the CEO…
