Musical: The Fabulous World of Amélie
On the screen, Amélie has already touched and enchanted millions of people around the world. From February 2019, Stage Entertainment will bring “The Fabulous World of Amélie” to a German theater stage for the first time as a musical, at the Werk7 Theater (Werksviertel-Mitte). Advance ticket sales start today at musicals.de, at München Ticket and at all well-known ticket outlets.
“Amelie” tells the story of Amélie Poulain, a young French woman who works as a waitress in the Parisian district of Montmartre. In reality, however, Amélie lives in her own bizarre, but at the same time lovable and fabulous world, into which she draws other people and changes their lives in miraculous ways.

The musical shows its audience the world through Amélie's eyes. "Her poetry and imagination are wonderfully suited to the expressive possibilities of musical theater. Our visitors can look forward to one of the most extraordinary and charming stage stories of recent years," says director Christoph Drewitz.
"Amélie" brings a piece of Paris to Munich, both visually and musically. The music and songs of the new musical are by Daniel Messé. They are framed by the well-known and beloved melodies of Yann Tiersen, which made the French cinematic hit so unforgettable. "Amélie" became one of the most successful French films of all time in 2001 and enjoys cult status to this day. Audrey Tautou achieved international fame in the role of Amélie. The film was highly praised by critics, nominated for five Oscars, and won the European Film Award as well as the French César Award.
The new musical “The Fabulous World of Amélie” will premiere on Valentine’s Day 2019 – at the Werk7 Theater in Werksviertel-Mitte. Auditions have already begun this week, and the first rehearsals will start in early January 2019 in Munich.
