Start of filming for "Dengler – Kreuzberg Blues"
Based on the novel “Kreuzberg Blues” by bestselling author Wolfgang Schorlau, a new “Dengler” crime thriller is currently being produced for ZDF in Berlin.
In his sixth TV case, private detective Georg Dengler (Ronald Zehrfeld) investigates with hacker activist Olga Illiescu (Birgit Minichmayr) in the highly competitive Berlin real estate industry.
Directed by Daniel Rübesam, the film also stars Sabin Tambrea, Seyneb Saleh, Marius Lamprecht, Peter Trabner, Kira Zurhausen, Caprice Crawford, Joshua Jaco Seelenbinder, Wanja Götz, Mona Pirzad and others. The screenplay for this TV film of the week was written by Lars Kraume with the assistance of Wolfgang Schorlau.
In Berlin-Kreuzberg, criminal machinations are being used to force tenants to vacate old residential buildings. Targeted acts of sabotage are intended to force tenants to move out in order to enable the properties to be demolished.
When rats are released into one of the houses and a baby is seriously injured, Olga (Birgit Minichmayr) calls Dengler (Ronald Zehrfeld) for help. For Olga, the matter is clear: only real estate investor Jan Kröger (Peter Trabner) can be behind this. The apartment buildings are in the way of the construction of his luxury apartments.
But it is more complicated than it seems at first glance. Kröger denies all accusations and even offers to pay Dengler himself to solve the case. Proof of his innocence or a clever maneuver to divert suspicion from himself? But even though Kröger unscrupulously promotes gentrification, Dengler begins to doubt his guilt.
Because Kröger is on the verge of a crucial deal, for which any negative publicity could mean the end. Other forces seem to be at work here, which are also becoming a serious threat to Dengler and Olga.
“Dengler – Kreuzberg Blues” is a ZDF commissioned production by Bavaria Fiction in collaboration with Cuckoo Clock Entertainment. Filming will last until November 19, 2020. A broadcast date has not yet been set.
