“Inspector Dupin”: Shooting for the tenth film

First take for “Breton Idyll”: Inspector Dupin’s latest case begins, contrary to the title of the episode, anything but idyllic.

On the beautiful Belle-Île-en-Mer, the largest of the Breton islands, the body of a sheep farmer is fished out of the Atlantic.

During his investigations in picturesque fishing villages and on rugged cliffs, Pasquale Aleardi, as Georges Dupin, comes across the deepest human abysses, which he traces in his usual idiosyncratic manner like a seismograph.

Alongside Pasquale Aleardi, Jan Georg Schütte, Christina Gabriela Hecke, Anna Grisebach, Aurel Manthei, Martin Lindow, Elzemareike de Vos and Katja Danowski are in front of Victor Voß's camera.

The tenth film in the ARD Degeto series will be shot in Concarneau and the surrounding area as well as on Belle-Île until October 4, 2021.

Dupin's tenth case is again based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Jean-Luc Bannalec. Like its predecessors, "Inspector Dupin - Breton Idyll" went from zero to number 1 in the fiction charts. The novel series is considered the most successful German-language crime series of recent years.

The "Inspector Dupin" film adaptations, which have been sold to over 40 countries worldwide, are also running with great success in Monsieur le Commissaire's home country, most recently his eighth case "La Croix d'Emma" ("Breton Legacy") as the second most successful program of the day.
